Perfect for DIY-ers, self builders and contractors, Roofmate and Floormate are extremely easy to install and highly effective in reducing the 40% of heat lost through floors and roofs.
Danny Phelan, Sales Manager of Panel Systems, explains, “The severe winters and very cold springs we have seen recently have made more customers think about increasing the energy efficiency of their buildings and who can blame them with nearly half of all heat lost through roofs and floors. As a result, we have seen a high level of demand for Floormate and Roofmate over the past 12 months, which is mainly from self builders and contractors. Both products offer high levels of thermal performance and are very easy to install, which saves time on site. Customers like the fact that they can order online and receive their product within a few days.”
During the last few months Panel Systems has been busy fulfilling customers orders across the UK. As part of its commitment to keeping Britain warm and comfortable, the company is able to fulfill orders from stock and deliver anywhere within mainland UK. Alternatively, customers have the option of collecting from the company’s Sheffield distribution centre close to the M1 Junction 31.
Floormate has been specifically designed so it can be used in floor insulation for new build, extensions or DIY home improvement projects. Produced from high performance Styrofoam, Floormate is light in weight, as well as durable and moisture resistant. Installable above or below ground bearing concrete slabs, Floormate can also be suspended in beam and block or timber floors.
The product, which is available in a 2500 x 600mm board size does not require any specialist skills or equipment and is completely safe to handle.
The grade most widely used is Floormate 300-A which is available in thicknesses from 50mm to 200mm allowing customers to achieve their required U-Value to conform to Building Regulations. For heavy load floor applications, the range also includes Floormate 500-A & 700-A.
Roofmate is also constructed from Styrofoam extruded polystyrene, which has a whole host of benefits as an insulation material, as it has a lightweight core, offers low water absorption and easy handling. Styrofoam’s closed cell structure makes it highly resistant to water, rain, snow or frost, giving it excellent performance in terms of moisture resistance and freeze/thaw, a vitally important attribute in exposed rooftop conditions. When used in inverted roof applications, Styrofoam’s structure gives the foam great rigidity and in load bearing applications makes it highly resistant to compression and is therefore suitable for use on heavyweight decks with a ballast layer of gravel or concrete.
Roofmate is available in a 1250 x 600mm board size and seven different thicknesses, ranging from 80mm to 200mm and provides U-values of up to 0.16 Wm2K. ROOFMATE™ LG-A – an insulation board with an integral 10mm thick mortar topping is ideally suited for parapet/upstand insulation.
When Roofmate and Floormate are used in conjunction with each other it enables a self builder, contractor or DIY-er to create a very well insulated building envelope.
