Following some 25 years of successful business in Italy and mainland Europe, the composite window specialist Uniform has set up a UK subsidiary Uniform Architectural Ltd in Bristol.
Directors Chris Dixon, Adrian Youd and Matteo Giaretta all have long experience in the window and door industry and are based at the new Bristol head office in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol. Chris and Adrian will be keeping up their connections with specifiers and contractors to satisfy project requirements and Matteo as operations director, will be co-ordinating with the group’s European factories for the speedy deliveries for which the group is known.
The Uniform Architectural Ltd parent company Uniform SpA based in Verona, Italy is a £100 million turnover manufacturer of top quality composite windows. Its range now introduced to the UK market has a much wider range of options than others offer, particularly with regard to the varieties of wood available such as oak, cherry and larch. Nearly half of its 45,000m² premises in Verona is devoted to manufacturing, the company employing 400 people worldwide. Uniform also manufactures high specification curtain walling and brise soleil at a separate plant.
Composite windows combine the best properties of wood and aluminium in that wood provides the thermal insulation with aluminium extrusion cappings on the outside protecting the timber and being maintenance free.
Speaking on behalf of the company, director Chris Dixon commented, “ With all the thermal and acoustic advantages of composite windows it is easy to see why they are enjoying a growing trend. This is an exciting time to introduce the uni_one range into the UK market and with the options, technical solutions and much faster deliveries that we are offering we expect to see some solid growth over the next few years.”
The uni_oneâ window system can be specified with virtually any RAL colour for the aluminium on the outside of the window as well as bronze, and in numerous stain colours on pine or oak plus cellulose enhanced, high durability wood veneers on the inside of the window. This means that the inside and outside of the windows can more easily co-ordinate with exterior and interior building specifications. These top quality windows with their unusually high combination of thermal and acoustic insulation are ideal for high end residential, yet competitive enough for large-scale commercial projects, these including hotels, apartments, offices, schools, social housing, care homes, student accommodation and libraries.
The uni_oneâwindow has already been used on a 750 window student accommodation tower in the City of London, selected for the best combination of product quality, technical performance and competitiveness.
