façade insert window

Facade insert window is new addition to Schueco UK range

Schueco UK has just launched AWS 114, a façade insert window that can be fitted into all types of Schueco façades including stick, unitised and add-on constructions.

Its design benefits include large vent sizes, high levels of thermal insulation and the option of ‘TipTronic’ automatic actuator operation.

The AWS 114 window is available in three formats – fully framed, structurally glazed and structurally glazed with a glass retention frame. All can be specified with standard insulation or super insulation (.SI).

Typical Uf values range from 1.8 Wm2K (AWS 114, AWS 114 SG) to 1.3 Wm2K (AWS 114.SI), with sound insulation up to 47 dB Rw using double-glazed units. The vent can accommodate double- and triple-glazed units from 28 mm to 52 mm.

Two opening types are available: projected top-hung and parallel opening. Both use new hinges that are unique to Schueco and both can be operated by hand or by ‘TipTronic’ motor drives. In order not to compromise the clean lines of the façade, the latter are completely concealed within the frames.

The largest vent size for top-hung manual vents is 2.2 m x 1.4 m or 1.5 m x 2 m; for parallel vents it is 1.2 m x 2 m. ‘TipTronic’ operation increases the maximum top-hung dimensions to 2.7 m x 2.5 m or 1.5 m x 3.6 m, while parallel vents can measure 2.2 m x 2.5 m or 1.3 m x 3.6 m.

Maximum vent weights for ‘TipTronic’ automated systems vary from 250 kg (top-hung) to 200 kg (parallel opening); with manually operated versions, the figures are 160 kg and 100 kg respectively.

Finally, security is assured by means of Schueco’s multipoint locking system which can deliver security up to EN 1627 RC2.
