Giving respite centre users greater independence in the bathroom with Geberit AquaClean

Helping disabled children and their carers enjoy a well-deserved rest, Geberit’s market-leading shower toilets have been chosen for a new respite centre in Glasgow.Buttercup House1

Being launched in partnership with the Mungo Foundation and East Dumbartonshire Council, Buttercups House will deliver respite and short break support for up to three children and young people at a time, all of whom have varying degrees of disability.

With the aim of enhancing the quality of life of those most in need, the bathrooms in the centre have been fitted with Geberit AquaClean 8000plus Care shower toilets. Making keeping clean a much easier task for the user and their carer, Geberit AquaClean 8000plus Care is the ultimate solution for independence in the bathroom.

Combining the convenience of a warm water wash, and warm air-dryer alongside other enhancing features including an opto-remote and reinforced seat, Geberit AquaClean 8000plus Care is easy to operate and virtually touch-free.

Irene Loughlin from East Dumbartonshire Council said: “It was important that the centre was fitted with the best products to suit the needs of residents and the shower toilets not only give them a greater feeling of independence in the bathroom, but also help our staff give them the very highest quality of care.“

Simon Thomas, Area Sales Manager for Geberit, comments: “Being able to use the bathroom as independently as possible is extremely important for those with reduced mobility and something that often becomes an issue for people in their own homes. We were therefore keen to be involved in the Buttercups House project to help ensure that the young people enjoying respite care at the centre have access to the very best facilities that will enhance their sense of wellbeing.“
