When Gregory Phillips established his architecture practice in 1991 he aimed to build a business that had, at its core, a personal and holistic approach to high-quality residential design.
With a keen ability to design beautiful, modern buildings that also function as real homes where people like to spend time, Phillips has built a successful architecture studio out of understanding how people want to live and being able to create bespoke houses that reflect their lifestyles.
Gregory and his team build homes and sanctuaries for their discerning clients who trust them to produce high-quality, elegant spaces – in many cases a full build that also includes interior design – with no detail left unanswered.
“Our projects include city homes and country residences for a wide number of high profile clients,” says Phillips. “People who come to us want modern, well-appointed houses that suit how they live. What we bring to our projects is the use of the best materials – stone, wood, leather – done in a contemporary way with a high degree
of detail and craftsmanship. Ideally we design every aspect of the house, from the structure of the building and the landscaping, right down to furniture and even accessories.”
London-born Gregory Phillips was trained at Bristol University and the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow. He was one of the first architects to pioneer a full service residential design and over decades has accrued unparalleled knowledge of the sector, as well as a reputation for open, light-filled spaces, rich materiality, precise detailing and a strong connection between inside and outside living.
Gregory Phillips Architects’ commitment to achieving the highest level of design has resulted in many award-winning projects for both architecture and interior design, including multiple wards for the International Design and Architecture Award for the Best House in Europe, International Property Awards, Sunday Times British Homes Awards, as well as RIBA Awards, Daily Mail UK Property Awards, Grand Designs Awards, the Homes and Garden Award for Best Bathroom Designer of the Year. Currently shortlisted for 2018 Architect of the Year in as Interior Architect of the Year, and also for a 2018 RIBA Award.
