The Wolseley Road project from LBMV Architects
Located in a unique conservation area of North London, the Wolseley Road project from LBMV Architects involved the renovation and extension of an impressive Victorian townhouse. Originally extended in the 1980s, the property was in need of modernisation that would embrace the Victorian character, whilst introducing a contemporary aspect that sets the property apart.
With an unusual brief that challenged LBMV Architects to create a corner extension without columns, glass windows and doors are embraced as part of a cube structure to make the most of the views outside to the garden.
Featuring modern innovation including bespoke aluminium doors that operate automatically and structural glazing throughout the kitchen extension; LBMV Architects have created a contemporary design statement that carefully interacts with the Victorian brick exterior. Revealing the kitchen to be an important part of family life, the homeowner’s passion for cooking required a multi-functional space that was both practical and elegant.
The result achieves a spacious kitchen that is perfect for everyday family meals, as well as entertaining friends in the summer. Attention to detail is paramount throughout the project; with built-in bench seating in the dining area and refined garden landscaping that is designed to reflect the property’s interior. Combining quality materials with an intuitive use of the available space, LBMV Architects have ensured a family home that is fit for the homeowner’s modern lifestyle.
