Young energy professionals awarded for contributions to LPG sector

Three young people working within the LPG and renewable liquid gas sector, have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to the industry, at a national awards ceremony held in Cardiff. 

Commended at trade association Liquid Gas UK’s annual conference, the winners were chosen for outstanding contributions to their individual companies, with expertise spanning sales, practical skills, and process management.

The rising star award was presented to Madeleine Jones from AvantiGas, for embracing the green energy transition and using her natural affinity for sales to source the company’s first renewable DME (Renewable Dimethyl-Ether) customer. Her dedication has seen her progress into a managerial role in under three years, exceeding her sales targets by 300%.

The apprentice/ trainee of the year award was presented to Hadley Hilton at Calor for outstanding practical skills and theoretical knowledge, which were ranked highest within his cohort of fellow trainees.

Alisha Nadeem from Flogas won the outstanding achievement for her initiatives across process safety and risk management, and for pioneering for cultural change while studying for a level five ‘women in leadership’ programme.

As the LPG industry transitions to becoming 100% renewable by 2040, through a £260m UK investment in the production of renewable liquid gases, it is more important than ever to continue to attract new people to the industry.

Sponsored by Vaillant, and led by Liquid Gas UK, the awards programme champions young professionals aged 35 and under throughout the industry, shining a spotlight on their success and showcasing opportunities for young people within the LPG and renewable liquid gas sector.

All award nominations are assessed ‘blind’ by the judging panel, with identifying information including the company, position and personal details omitted to ensure fairness.
