A ground-breaking project in the NOMA Business District of Manchester recognises that creating the right indoor environment is key to delivering a healthy workplace. While the heating and cooling system provides excellent occupant comfort, delivering on sustainability was always the focus of the development.
The NOMA project incorporates low carbon usage at every stage of the lifecycle, including whole life carbon and embodied carbon.
Capitalising on the high temperature hot water production of an EW-HT Water-to-Water heat pump and taking advantage of two low noise, high performance INTEGRA i-FX chillers with lower GWP refrigerant, the system balances the simultaneous production of chilled and hot water. By matching energy efficiency and high performance, while complying with the F Gas Regulations, the technology provides a future-proofed solution.
Technology is only part of the initiative. In order to gain ‘Designed for Performance’ accreditation the building services arrangements also had to meet stringent sustainability and efficiency targets.
